Welcome to the Inside of My Head
This is my attempt to document some of my interests and experiences. Interests includes distressed vehicles (primarily British), electronics, drones and other flying objects, self-employment. I plan to discuss successes and failures and procrastination. I hope that, in the process, somebody may find some information they can use or something that entertains.
Sometimes I feel like I was born with a wrench in my hand. I had an innate need to take things apart to see how they work and sometimes I would attempt to put things back together if the owner of the thing complained loudly. I came by this trait honestly; my father was a Navy electronics engineer/test pilot who could fix anything. His best friend was epoxy. The downside of this is that we never had anything new. He built our first TV in the early 50s from a Radio Craftsmen kit. That was still the family TV when I left home in the 70s. He built the next TV (color) from a Heathkit. I developed a love affair with the internal combustion engine in the early 60s and built the “go kart” in the picture from an abandoned lawn tractor with a Reo engine.
I helped keep the AMT company afloat in the 60s building just about every plastic car model they made. I never abused plastic cement, but I did love the smell of that stuff. Unfortunately, my creations didn’t survive family moves after I left home.
